A CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP AT KENTUCKY-BARKLEY LAKES UNTIL
THIS PAST YEAR (2019) DUE, IN PART, TO THE INFLUX OF "CARP"
AS WELL AS KENTUCKY'S CHARGING A "TOURNAMENT TAX"
ON ORGANIZATIONS FISHING IN THE STATE OF KENTUCKY.
THAT'S ALL GONNA CHANGE FOR THE 2020 TOURNAMENT YEAR.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM COLUMBUS TO THE BEST WESTERN IN WOODHAVEN/TRENTON MICHIGAN
Two primary routes are available. Most direct is to take US Rt 23 north towards Findlay, Ohio merging onto I-75-N all the way to the West Rd. exit in Woodhaven/Trenton Michigan. At the light turn left to go to the Best Western clearly visible once you’ve tuned onto West Rd (turn right into the combined parking lots). (177 miles) 3 ½ hour drive.
WE WILL BE LAUNCHING OUT OF THE ELIZABETH PARK LAUNCH RAMP IN TRENTON, MICHIGAN.
Best Western is located on West Rd. Exit hotel lot and turn left onto West Rd. Follow West Rd. past (under) the I-75 interchange where you’ll start to merge to the right in preparation to turn right onto Allen Rd (south) merging toward the “fast lane” for a left turn onto Van Horn Rd taking it all the way where it dead ends into W. Jefferson Ave. Turn left onto W Jefferson and take it to Grosse Ile Pkwy where you’ll make a right turn. The entrance to the Park is on your left as you travel down Grosse Ile.

TEAMS APPEARING IN WHITE BELOW HAVE QUALIFIED TO FISH THE CLASSIC.
OF THOSE, TEAMS IN BLUE HAVE PRE-PAID THEIR ENTRY. WHILE TEAMS IN RED
HAVE INDICATED THEY WILL BE PAYING THEIR ENTRY.

CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION
REFER TO THE 2020 TOURNAMENT RULES
FOR FURTHER CLARIFICATION.
1.) EACH TEAM MUST HAVE PAID FOR A MINIMUM OF SIX EVENTS AND FISHED AT LEAST 5 EVENTS. (ALLOW ONE BUY IN)
2.) ALTERNATES MAY NOT FISH IN THE CLASSIC, YOU MAY FISH ALONE IF YOUR PARTNER CAN NOT ATTEND.
3.) AT LEAST ONE TEAM MEMBER MUST ATTEND THE PRE-TOURNAMENT MEETING (THURSDAY) THE NIGHT PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF THE CLASSIC.
4.) ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST STAY AT THE HOST LODGINGS OCTOBER 21st AND 22nd.
5.) ALL CLASSIC QUALIFIER TEAMS WILL PAY THE CLASSIC FEE ($200.00) INCLUDING STAFF BOATS.
SPECIAL CLASSIC CONSIDERATIONS:
ALL WATERS WILL BE "OPEN" FOR FISHING, (LAKE ST. CLAIR, THE DETROIT RIVER & LAKE ERIE) AND
INCLUDES BOTH AMERICAN AND CANADIAN WATERS. (WEATHER PERMITTING)
OFF-LIMITS AREAS ARE DESCRIBED AS THE WALPOLE RESERVE AS WELL AS THE IMMEDIATE AREA OF THE LAUNCH RAMP FROM THE NORTHERNMOST EDGE OF THE MARINA TO THE NORTHERNMOST EDGE OF THE GROSSE ILE BRIDGE ABUTMENTS (NEAR ENFORCEMENT BOATS). ALSO ANY AREAS LEGALLY POSTED AND ANY WILDLIFE PRESERVES OR PROTECTED AREAS.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO FISH CANADIAN WATERS?
A passport was required by Canadian law, but rarely asked for. ... Anglers and recreational boaters alike must have either a passport, birth certificate or enhanced driver's license. If they have a DWI, drug charge or any firearms charges on their criminal record, they are not allowed to enter Canadian waters.
DAILY CREEL WILL BE 5 BASS PER TEAM (LAGEMOUTH-SMALLMOUTH) 14" IN LENGTH OR LONGER.
LAST YEAR WE AVERAGED 36.57 PAYING TEAMS OVER THE 7 EVENTS.
EXAMPLE WITH 30 BOAT AVERAGE OVER THE 7 QUALIFYING EVENTS:
$1,800.00 PER EVENT (CLASSIC FUNDS) X 7 EVENTS=$12,600.00
20 BOATS PARTICIPATE IN CLASSIC = $4,000.00
TOPTAL = $16,600.00
EXAMPLE WITH 40 BOAT AVERAGE OVER THE 7 QUALIFYING EVENTS:
$2,400.00 PER EVENT (CLASSIC FUNDS) X 7 EVENTS=$16,800.00
30 BOATS PARTICIPATE IN CLASSIC = $6,000.00
TOTAL = $22,800.00
